French Reds Gift

One of our favorite growers in Beaujolais, Jean-Paul Brun of Terre d'Orées aim is to make wines of tremendous freshness and fruitiness that express their granitic origins. Opening with notes of pure red fruits and a bit of herbal green, the palate is vibrant, and direct, with subtle mineral undertones.

Enjoy the Sur le Haut des Arpents beside grilled meats, especially burgers and steaks, or with richer vegetable dishes like mushroom soup, or rice with seasonal squashes.

Bertrand and Vincent Marchesseau are two men of ideas - the Utopie is the culmination of years of work to have a more environmentally-friendly wine package. It's a lighter bottle, without a wasteful capsule, and saves ink by cutting into the label itself. Lucky for them, the wine is a Utopia in itself! A softer, more supple example of Cabernet Franc, it opens with notes of purple flowers, and fresh red fruit, while the palate is soft and generous with just a kiss of tannin, and memorable finish.

A lighter Cabernet Franc like the Utopie will be excellent beside light cheeses, roasted vegetables, or even a more substantial seafood preparation like salmon or tuna crudo.

A lovely Merlot from the Loire, the Grand Chêne opens with notes of rich dark plum, a bit of cherry, and some herbal green, moving to a subtle palate with the same fruit elements, with a snappy, mineral finish.

A wine with a slightly lighter profile, the Grand Chêne Merlot will pair beautifully with lighter proteins like chicken or even fish, but will be superb beside pork, whether it's carnitas, ribs, or sausage.
