The Winter Sampler

A bright, characterful example of one of the world's favorite grapes, the Glucksjager "Blanc Fumé" combines attractive notes of freshly-cut grass, gooseberry, and lemon peel on the nose, with a palate that's rounded, with herbal elements complementing a rich core of citrus fruit.

A fantastic aperitif, the Glucksjager Sauvignon Blanc will pair well with richer fish like blackened catfish with remoulade, or scallops with a herby beurre blanc, though it will do just as well beside a plate of asparagus and hollandaise.

A rosé of real class, the Pur Jus is a mélange of tart fruit, herbs, and a kiss of wet stone. On the palate, the wine's greatest asset is its brightness, complementing the above notes, along with a crisp mineral finish.

A superb aperitif to open up the appetite, the Pur Jus will also do very well beside fresh appetizers like cucumber salad with chili oil, scallop crudo, or a cool gazpacho.

A red wine from the land of rosé, the Mongestine Lune Rouge brings all the fruit you'd expect with the summer sunshine, alongside deep mineral elements. Opening with notes of stewed plum, and a touch of sage, the palate is broad and robust, with solid tannin, and a slaty, mineral finish.

Syrah, Grenache, and pork are a match made in heaven, and the Lune Rouge will do especially well beside a lardon-spiked bouef bourguignons, a plate of glazed ribs right off the grill, or a smoky baba ghanouj.
