Ravishing Rosés

A fantastically-fresh rosé from one of Austria's most promising winemakers, the Zillinger Coccinelle opens with notes of raspberries and unripe strawberries alongside very subtle notes of soft herbs, moving to a palate characterized by its freshness and directness, with the same tart pink fruits, and a zippy, mineral finish.

A great aperitif, the Coccinelle will do well beside light seafood preparations like a salmon or tuna tartare, or a light salad featuring fresh fruit.

A fantastic winter rosé from an upstart South African grower, the Gouws rosé opens with notes of unripe cherries and raspberries, moving to a velvety, richer palate for rosé, with the same fresh fruit, and a smooth, supple finish.

A lovely gastronomic rosé, the Jurgen Gouws will do well beside flavorful, meaty appetizers like larb or chicken satay, but will also complement roasted veggies fresh from the farmers market.

Cabernet Franc is one of the great wine grapes of the world, but one of the best rosé grapes. Its combination of dark fruit with herbal brightness makes its rosés hedonistic, yet nuanced. The Matin Calme, or calm morning, opens with lively notes of cherry and raspberry along with dewy grass, while the palate is fruity, full, yet restrained enough to keep this wine refreshing, with a soft, bright finish.
